The Month Ahead (November 2015)

In 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Paul writes, “Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” What an excellent charge as the Thanksgiving season approaches! We know that being grateful isn’t always easy, especially when, from our limited perspective, everything looks bleak. However, intentionally expressing gratitude both to others and to God has a way of changing our hearts and attitudes. No matter where you find yourself this month, we encourage you to give thanks!

We are thankful for you and are grateful for the opportunities God has provided us to serve this coming month. Here are just a few of the ways you can get involved:
  • Sunday, November 1, Holy of Holies sermon series begins
  • Sunday, November 1, volunteer training meeting (held at both campuses)
  • Thursday, November 12, booth at Primetime in Provo
  • Saturday, November 14, Operation Christmas Child packing party in Taylorsville (Can’t make it Saturday? You can still pack a shoebox with The Rock Church at our Taylorsville campus on Wednesday, November 18!)
  • Sunday, November 15, Honduras mission trip applications and $300 deposits due
  • Tuesday, November 17, worship service at Utah Valley Rehabilitation & Health in Provo
  • Thursday, November 19, booths at Vasa Gym in Taylorsville and Provo
  • Sunday, November 29, prayer and communion service (held at both campuses)
  • Sunday, December 6, Christmas Music sermon series begins
Pastor Logan will be talking more about each of these during our upcoming services. In addition, keep in mind that each time you turn in a completed Connection Card this month, we’ll donate $1 to the Rescue Mission of Salt Lake (Taylorsville campus) or the Food and Care Coalition (Provo campus) and that 10% of our offerings will go to the Mann family, church planters in Chicago.

Thank you for your continued faithfulness; we look forward to serving and worshipping with you this month!
