"Praying for Kings" in 5 Tweets

A recap of the message "Praying for Kings" (from our special Independence Day service) in 140 characters or less:
  1. The decisions of our elected officials directly impact our lives (cf. 1Tim 2:2). That alone is reason enough to pray for them. #CrossPointUT
  2. God doesn't intend for you to find your identity in your voter registration card but in your relationship with Christ. #CrossPointUT
  3. When did you last offer "supplications, prayers, intercessions, & giving of thanks" (1Tim 2:1) on behalf of our leaders? #CrossPointUT
  4. "Thou shalt not...curse the ruler of thy people" (Ex. 22:28). Rather than complain about our leaders we are to pray for them. #CrossPointUT
  5. "The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will" (Pr. 21:1). #CrossPointUT
